Arth's Dad
Arthur was kind, funny, cheeky, and endlessly warm. Although his life was far too short, it was filled with love, laughter, courage, and joy — and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Arthur loved sport, especially rugby. He played for Gordano Sharks and was a passionate supporter of Bristol Bears and England Rugby. Match days, trips to Twickenham, and watching games together were some of his happiest times. He also loved football and his beloved Newcastle United, with unforgettable days spent at St James’ Park soaking up the atmosphere.
The Walk4Arth route reflects two places that meant a great deal to Arthur. It begins at Ashton Gate Stadium, home of Bristol Bears, where so many happy rugby memories were made, and finishes at Mawgan Porth Beach in Cornwall, one of Arthur’s favourite family holiday destinations.
After Arthur was diagnosed with leukaemia, Lego became more than just a hobby. It was a place of calm, focus, and creativity when so much felt out of his control. Pink was his favourite colour, and together with his love of Lego is why the Walk4Arth logo is a pink Lego figure — a small symbol of something that brought him comfort and joy.
Arthur also loved music, particularly the piano. During a stay in hospital, he was recorded playing one of his favourite pieces — a moment that captures his determination and quiet strength. You can watch this video on the website.
Arthur never complained about his illness. He simply got on with living, showing a level of bravery that continues to inspire. Walk4Arth exists in his memory — to honour his life, celebrate who he was, and help raise funds so other families facing childhood cancer can be supported.
